Interim Pastorate Search
The First Presbyterian Church of Thomaston, Georgia, located
65 miles south of downtown Atlanta,
is searching for the appropriate interim pastor. Our present pastor is retiring,
and the interim position will become open by June 1. (In other words, the
starting date for the position is June 1, or a few days before, since June 1 is
a Sunday.) We are searching for an interim with appropriate training to
serve the needs of a church of about 100 active members. We would expect
the usual preaching, teaching, moderating the session, visiting church members,
finding prospective church members and visiting them, hospital visitation,
participation in church activities (Wed. night suppers, etc.), as well
as working with the various groups within the congregation (Presbyterian
Women, Silver Circle, etc.) to ensure a healthy transition from one pastor to
another.
The contact person here is Dr. Rick Thurman,
Clerk of Session; home phone:
706-647-1165; e-mail: rthurman66@alltel.net.
The church has a website: www.fpcthomaston.org.
We would like to receive PIFs
between now and April 15, after which time we will begin the interviewing
process.
