Announcements for Sunday
The purpose of First Presbyterian Church
is to glorify God in Jesus Christ through
worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship and service.
Please continue to keep the following individuals
and their families in your prayers:
Katherine Birdsong, Jane Eubanks, Norman Gardner, Charlie Mixon and
Martha Jewell Mixon.
We welcome Jim Herring today representing
Gideons. If you would like to contribute
to their work, Mr. Herring will be standing at the door with the Pastor to
receive any offerings you might like to give.
Thank
You
“I am deeply
appreciative of the many prayers and acts of kindness shown to me during my
recent eye surgery. It is such a comfort
to have my church family praying for me during this trying time.” Gloria Ormand.
Congratulations
The Men of the Church annual chili cook off was a huge success. For all who took part we would like to say thank you. They were all great however as you know there can only be one winner. The winner was David Blount. If you ever have a cold and need to be able to breathe, just have David make you some chili. It is guaranteed to have you breathing again. $200+ was raised and donated to Harbor House.
The following is the schedule for meetings the week of March 6 thru March 12. Please note all meeting will be at the church unless otherwise indicated.

Upcoming
Events
In the weeks leading up to Easter morning, Pastor Blevins
will be preaching a sermon entitled In
the Presence of Christ. This series will focus on the lives of some of the
people who were in the presence of Christ during His last days. The goal of the series is to get us to
examine ourselves in the light of those who turned away from Christ during His
time of passion, and consider if the negative things that caused them to turn
away just might be in our lives too.
This should be a good series to help us grow in our faith and rise above
our own inconsistencies, and help us stand in the presence of Christ as
stronger Christians. Why not plan to be
present each Sunday until Easter, and invite someone who doesn’t have a
church home to attend the series with you?
