In His Love and In His Pity

In His love and in His pity He redeemed us. In His love and in His pity He provided heaven. Never has another loved us like the Savior loves. How can anyone suspend himself upon a cross and die for me?  Die willingly to set us free.

But He did love, He had pity on us.  He provided heaven at last. Shall we not return the favor, live each day for our dear Savior? And one day He will return for us.

How He suffered in the garden for your sin and mine.  See Him trudge up Calvary's mountain. "Not my will, but Thine."  Cursing mobs and angry soldiers spit upon that face.  Then the sky in winter darkness proved the depth to which sin would go, And Jesus died.  He loved us so.

Upcoming Events

In the weeks leading up to Easter morning, Pastor Blevins will be preaching a sermon entitled In the Presence of Christ. This series will focus on the lives of some of the people who were in the presence of Christ during His last days.  The goal of the series is to get us to examine ourselves in the light of those who turned away from Christ during His time of passion, and consider if the negative things that caused them to turn away just might be in our lives too.  This should be a good series to help us grow in our faith and rise above our own inconsistencies, and help us stand in the presence of Christ as stronger Christians.  Why not plan to be present each Sunday until Easter, and invite someone who doesn’t have a church home to attend the series with you?

Maundy Thursday Services

Maundy Thursday Services will be held at our church on Thursday evening, March 24, at 7:00 p.m.  We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper during the service and remember His great sacrifice paid for our salvation.  Plan to attend this service of inspiration and invite a friend to come with you.

Easter Sunrise Services

The Upson County Ministerial Association is sponsoring the community Sunrise Service again this year on Easter Morning, at 7:00 a.m., at the Crystal Hill Cemetery.  We will cancel the 8:30 a.m. Worship Service at our church that morning.

Renewal Weekend

Renewal Weekend will be Saturday and Sunday, April 9th and 10th.  Our speaker will be Parker T. Williamson, Editor of the Presbyterian Layman and Chairman of the Presbyterian Lay Committee.

Our programs will begin with a BBQ Supper (Bobby Searcy catered) on Saturday evening at 6 PM (reservations required, donations accepted for the BBQ supper) followed at 6:30 PM by a program led by Parker Williamson in the fellowship hall.  On Sunday morning Parker will present a program to the combined Sunday School classes at 9:30 AM, and will preach the sermon at the 11 AM Worship service.   Please note on this Sunday we will cancel our 8:30 morning worship service.
