GATHERING

   Gathering Music

   Opening Scripture                      Proverbs 8: 34-35

 *Opening Prayer                           (Responsive)

Leader:          Let all who seek to grow in their faith

                         enter this place for worship!

People:          We would have the Lord mold us and

shape us into God’s people today.

Leader:          God is the Potter and we are the clay in

                         the Great Creator’s hands.

People:          We yield our lives unto the Lord to mold

us as is pleasing before God.

Leader:          Praise be to the Lord, for God is faithful

                         to prepare us for eternity.

ALL:                 Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Leader:          Loving God, in Your wisdom You mold

us into better people.  Help us to entrust

our lives to You.  In Christ we pray.

                         Amen.

RESPONSE

Hymn of Response     Come and Find the Quiet Center       2128  (Use hymn tune,  Eventide)

Prayers and Confession         (Responsive)

Lord, like children we deny You the opportunity

to guide and lead us into maturity.

Yet, You want us to be mature people of faith.

We try to manage ourselves and miss blessings.

We don’t live up to what you have created us for.

We don’t pass Your blessings on to others.

Forgive us, Lord, and mold and shape us into

what you would have us to be

(The pastor continues the prayer)

In the name of Jesus who taught us to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on

earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.
